Toronto Star Rates Us #6 In Ontario!
Friday, April 24th, 2009 at 8:49 amThe Toronto Star has confirmed what many Ontario golfers already know: Caledon Country Club is one of the most value-packed golf clubs in all of Ontario!
Each year the Toronto Star comes out with it’s annual Toronto Star Golf Guide, and features course ratings and reviews by the well-known (and anonymous) “Bogeyman”.
According to the Toronto Star, the Bogeyman was “looking for the top values” and noted that all courses on the list “have challenging layouts besides being well maintained in their rustic settings…and they offer many benefits if you are willing to drive about an hour out of Metro Toronto.”
Caledon Country Club was rated # 6 on the Bogeyman’s list of “choicest, value-packed clubs under $75”, with criteria including offering the most benefit for the “lowest buck”.
Originally built as the private Chinguacousy Country Club in 1961, owner S.B. McLaughlin gave renowned golf course Rene Muylaert his first opportunity at course design. Fully public for the last 20 years, the greens are revered by many avid golfers and the signature dogleg 14th hole, with its tremendous views of the Niagara Escarpment, is a challenge countless golfers put on their must play list each year. Caledon Country Club has continued to improve course playability over the years, and in 2007 the 17th and 18th holes were redesigned and lengthened for maximum course yardage.
Caledon Country Club continues to provide golfers and visitors to the region with a private club experience at highly affordable rates. Golfers have come to expect a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive and the approachability of the Caledon Country Club staff and golf professionals sets it apart from other golf courses in the marketplace. According to Caledon Country Club General Manager, Kelly Myles, “we strive to provide exceptional value, customer service and a great golf experience to everyone who visits the course”.
Caledon Country Club is a favourite venue for public play, tournaments and weddings and private events. Subscribe to Caledon Country Club’s monthly newsletter for golf Tips from the Pro, upcoming events, promotions, clinics and Pro Shop features.
