Hi Kelly;
Just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thanks so much for all your help with putting the wedding together! We had a great day and all of our friends and family really enjoyed themselves! One of my mother’s friends said it was the best mix of classic and comfortable that she’d ever seen at a wedding, which is exactly what I wanted - traditional with out being stuffy

Painted turtle babies that is! I am Paul and I live near the golf course, and I do behind-the-scene work on this blog. I was walking my dog along one of the back maintenance paths on May 27 and noticed a large (10″) painted turtle on the side of the pathway. As I got closer I noticed that it had dug a hole and was laying eggs! The eggs were just a bit smaller than regular chicken eggs, but had the appearance of light brown hard boiled eggs, with the shell off.
The hole the mother had dug was about 5 inches around, but the nest itself underneath was flask shaped, so it was much wider on the inside. It looked about 6 to 10 inches deep with about 10 eggs in it. She had dug the hole out with her hind legs and was just finishing laying the last of the eggs when I appeared, and was beginning to cover them up as I watched. It was a very touching experience…
Here’s a picture of the covered nest (by the time I had gone to get my camera, Mom had buried the eggs and had left.) - you’ll notice the freshly tamped soil in the green circle, that’s the hole that was covered, the eggs are directly underneath that.

Caledon Country Club just finished hosting a qualifier for the Ontario Mid Amateur Championship. It was interesting to hear some of the comments in the shop prior to tee off regarding how easy the course looked. At 6140 yds. from the back tees people often are fooled into believing Caledon will be a walk in the park. I am obviously a little biased, but I can say I have played many golf courses in North America and I am always amazed at how challenging Caledon is! We had some of the best players in Ontario here this week and two over par was the low score! That’s right 6140 yds., par 71. Over the last 46 years many good players have tried to bring Caledon to it’s knees. The course record stands at 65 or 6 under par! There are many tougher courses with much lower course records. So why not come out and try Caledon for yourself? I think you will be pleasantly surprised, but remember, don’t take it lightly!

I wanted to thank you for everything. The tournament day was great!!
The weather was wonderful, the golfers all enjoyed your course and as an organizer I can’t say enough about the service that we received. Please extend our compliments to your chef–lunch was delicious and beautifully presented. Also our thanks for getting lunch early as the golfers came in earlier than we anticipated. Your staff are wonderful–any requests were met with smiles and results. We look forward to holding our tournament at your Club again next year.
Thanks again.

We are having our wedding at the Caledon Country Club on July 28th of this year, and all I can say is if the wedding continues at the level of service that we have seen so far, it will be amazing. We have researched a lot of GTA wedding venues, and none proved to have the same possibilities as the Caledon Country Club. What’s more, the amount of the help, support and guidance provided by Kelly Myles of the Caledon Country Club has been outstanding. I highly recommend you contact them.

Caledon Country Club is the ideal place for a tournament. The people are first class and the food is fabulous. I had one golfer tell me, “that was the best dinner I’ve ever had at any golf course…and I’ve been to a lot of them”.

So, the big day has come and gone, but the memories will last forever. Why don’t you make your memories available to everyone, and make an entry about your reception - or anything else about your day you’d like to share.
