Matthew Belacca

Caledon Country Club is proud to introduce Matthew Belacca as the new Head Golf Professional. Matthew brings with him a youthful enthusiasm and passion for the game of golf. Since taking over as Head Professional Matthew has made the Golf Shop his own by transforming the product availability as well as introducing and advancing Caledon’s golf and teaching programs.

Matthew completed the Professional Golf Management program at Humber College and began his professional career at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club where he experienced two Canadian Opens. Following Hamilton, Matthew spent three seasons at the Cutten Club in Guelph and most recently came to Caledon from King Valley.

Matthew’s passion for golf is exemplified through his dedication to all players and aspects of the game. Matthew is an accomplished player and an excellent teacher; he looks forward to meeting everyone at Caledon.

Since graduating from the Professional Golf Management program at Georgian college in Barrie, I’ve furthered my skills working at a number of golf courses in Ontario. I have striven to follow my passion to teach golf to others, for the love of the game. I have been teaching professionally for five years now and am looking forward to my first year at Caledon Country Club for the 2011 season.

I teach the modern golf swing with an emphasis on making golf fun and enjoyable for all. Keeping the atmosphere light and relaxed is my goal. The last 5 years I have taught junior camps as well as lessons and clinics for golfers of all ages and skill levels. As an avid player, I play in a number of local tournaments. In 2002 I competed in the Canadian long drive championships and placed 6th overall.
